Update: This maintenance has now been completed.

We will be performing maintenance on various core servers, in particular our main email server, the server which carries several customer websites, and the FireBrick server. During this maintenance window all the above machines will be unavailable for a period expected to be one to two hours (possibly but not necessarily at the same time).

The window for this maintenance period will be between 11:00 and 18:00 on Sunday 16/11/14.

Once the above is complete, we will be performing hardware upgrades and then there will be another similar outage as service is restored after the upgrade. This second step may be performed directly after the above, or it may prove necessary to schedule a further maintenance period; if this is necessary a further maintenance notice will be published.

The supplier of our primary circuit to Amsterdam has notified us they will be performing preventative maintenance, which will result in an outage of this circuit.

Our back up link will take over but there will likely be a period of a minute outage as routes re-converge .

The maintenance window we have been notified of commences at  23:30 on 12/11/14 with maximum duration 1 hour.

Apologies to customers with virtual machines running on our host ‘impersonator’, which suffered partial RAM failure and rebooted this afternoon. It is currently up and running OK, albeit with less RAM than normal. Maintenance will be scheduled to restore the full quota of RAM.
