Providing a reliable & stable service remains a top priority for Watchfront. We are constantly monitoring our network and remain confident that your services will continue to operate as normal.
To help all of Watchfront’s Internet customers stay connected in these difficult times, we have removed our monthly transit data caps from our ADSL & FTTC internet connections until further notice.
This means you’ll be able to use as much data as you like without worrying about additional charges.
We will be issuing further relevant statements in the near future. Stay safe.
Further to our previous post about the current situation with the Covid-19 virus we are giving another update in relations to any data centre works that may need done during this time.
Yesterdays post can be found here:
As this is a fluid situation where the situation is changing daily we will be updating you when there are changes to what is possible
Access to the data centres, in both Maidenhead and Amsterdam, is allowed but advised to be only for essential maintenance.
There are no firm restrictions on access at this time.
We will be working as normal for anything in Maidenhead where we will visit in person.
Currently Amsterdam is reachable but maybe not advised unless in absolute emergency.
We can however employ remote hands where such things as disks changes can be done with out a visit from us.
Both of the data centre owners are stating like us that their stance is based on the latest advice from the government and is subject to review and change.
If you have any queries about this please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Due to current government advice we as a company are working from home
but attending our virtual office daily.
Please be assured we are here to attend to every query you have and if
necessary any site visit.
If for any reason your call is not answered please leave a message we will get back to you.
Above all be safe and look out for each other.

Watchfront are very proud to announce that the new Firebrick 2900 (FB2900) has been officially launched and is available through our website.
As we have had integral involvement in the development of the FB2900 we take great satisfaction in the improvements from the previous products, the FB2700 and FB2500.
With increased throughput and lower power consumption the FB2900 brings many benefits and advancements with the refresh in hardware including a SPF gigabit Ethernet port.
Further to this the FB2900 is now rack mountable for either 1 or 2 FB2900s in a 1u space.
The FB2900 also comes in at a cheaper price than its predecessors with the “Fully Loaded” option now only £550.

As part of our dedication to innovate solutions to meet customer needs we have provided a portable Layer 2 connection for one of our customers.
This uses two Firebricks (FB2700) in conjunction with a 4G Dongle.
This set up will be used by the customer for when there is maintenance work on their main connection allowing them to route through to their data-centre at a layer 2 level directly.
Watchfront would like to thank Freshfield Services for becoming the first customer to use our point of presence in Market House, Wokingham.
We are pleased to be providing them a low latency connection at a very competitive rate.
We are very pleased with our new Fibre line into our office that we have decided not to keep it all to ourselves. With Watchfront’s point of presence, in Market House Wokingham, we can now offer leased line services to other tenants.
Next week Watchfront are trialling a new FTTC service from a different supplier. Our guinea pigs are all set and are looking forward to the trial.
If successful Watchfront will offer FTTC from two different providers.
The new offering will however be a fixed price which we feel will benefit our customers greatly.
We will have an update on this over the next few weeks.
